My husband loves technology. While I enjoy the benefits of technology, some of it seems built simply to frustrate me. It was so annoying in our last house when my husband connected all of our lights in the house to Google Assistant. And if you used the switch, it threw things off, because my husband also likes to have the fixtures in the proper direction (up for on, down for off…). So it was annoying to have to say, “OK Google, turn on the lights…” Though in his defense, setting up our Christmas tree or deck lights with a Google switch—I’m sure that’s not the official name—is a welcome treat.
But sometimes she listens and sometimes she doesn’t. And sometimes when I get sassy with her, she has a response. But other times, when I really want her to hear my sass, she ignores me. It’s infuriating—the lack of consistency from her. I just wish she could be consistent. Is that too much to ask? If you’re going to listen a few extra seconds, then do it all the time. None of this ridiculous picking and choosing. I know you’re always listening, so stop trying to pretend you’re not, okay?
So that is what inspired today’s comic.
